Ritual - Songs for the Haunted

After playing well over 300 concerts in 19 countries in a youthful frenzy since 2005 as one of the most active hardcore bands in Europe and leaving behind three albums and 7” singles, the cultishly revered band had been on hiatus since 2012.

Now Julian Laur de Manos, Deni Pavičić and Philipp Wulf, whose friendship has continued even without Ritual, have reunited 14 years after their last album. Their first single “Silver Lining” is more melodic than ever before. The palette has expanded considerably, with some striking facets added despite the strong recognition value.

Whereas the old Ritual were above all an angry band, here we hear a new hope – which is perhaps also based on the sense of community that has always welded the childhood friends together and is now more than ever aesthetically effective. A positive buoyancy radiates from the track and predestines the song to be a radiant sign of life – “Silver Lining” also says: “It feels good to be back.”

Ritual are reawakened here as a hardcore band that seems to fit into the year 2025.
