Natura Universal, the first album by LEAVS, is an expression of the constant struggle to find a path to positivity in moments when everything inside us seems to be lost. The album cover reinforces this idea with the Clematis Vidalba plant, who climbing towards the sun and spreading its seeds in the wind wants to find another place to grow.

The LEAVS project was started years ago by Adrià Cabrerizo (Blak, Tröpical Iceland) with the premise of expressing the overcoming of ‘psychological inclemencies’, although it was not until 2021 that he decided to shape it and compose the songs. Adrià turned to his circle of friends to form the band: Gerard Serrano (Hurricäde, Llacuna), Jaume Casals (Anchord, C.A.L.M.), Jonay Mora (Efiura) and Nina Montesó (Illinioise), who consolidate the band and give the songs their essence. The reference styles are shoegaze, dreampop, trip hop and blackgaze, among others. All this without losing the immediacy of punk.

The name of the album suggests the connection between nature and our inner self, understanding our mind as part of the whole. Using rhetoric it is intended to express the constant struggle to maintain inner calm and gratitude for what surrounds us in moments of darkness.

The lyrics, written in English, embrace the concept of universal nature. From dreamlike and melancholic imagery, they reflect on overcoming and accepting moments when you have to make a conscious effort to turn your head towards the light and not get lost in the darkness of depression. In this way, the album can also serve as a ray of light and companionship, even as a place to return to in different situations.
